Welcome to the home of Jedaka English Springer Spaniels, my name is Karen Jenkins I started showing when I was 8 years of age but not dogs I was heavily involved in horses, living in a rural area on the Gold Coast showing at Gymkhana's and 3 day eventing all around the state and NSW, I represented Qld many times over the years with much success, I was a Champion Girl Rider at several shows along the way and I loved to ride both socially and competitively. As a family we had owned several purebred registered dogs over the years but I had always wanted an English Springer Spaniel.

 

In 2002 JEDAKA was born with the arrival of a lovely bitch from Springton Kennels (Raelene Tippett) in Brisbane, Qld., Aust. Ch. Springton Shining Star (Jessie). Soon after I started showing and I must admit that was a learning curve but I persevered and soon got the bug. Jessie was titled by the time she was 13months with many BOB, group and show awards at all breed shows and has been placed and won at specialty level under International Judges.

 

By the time she was nearly 2, I had to have another so along came Aust. Ch. Maketawa Fire Storm (Dasha) from Maketawa Kennels (Ross & Mary West) in Victoria . Dasha has the most divine temperament and is a lovely specimen of the breed, he was a Qld Puppy of the Year finalist in 2004 and has won many BOB, group and in show awards at All Breeds level and many in show and class awards at the Specialty level under many International Judges.

 

In 2006 I bred my 1st litter and must admit as my 1st litter 13 puppies wow! These puppies had to be supplemented and it was a lot of hard work that I thoroughly enjoyed although if I never have 13 again I will be a happy person, from this litter I now have (Belle) Aust. Ch. Jedaka Designer Belle in my eyes a beautiful specimen of the breed, to date Belle has exceeded all my expectations with Challenge Bitch at the Vic ESSA show at the tender age of 1 with a huge lineup of quality bitches and has won at Specialty level at each of the shows she has attended.

 

I breed for type and temperament as per the English Springer Spaniel Standard, and look forward to improving my breed and learning more as the years go along.
